Songota Falls Lodge

Joyce is SO nice and the grounds are immaculate. We booked Sangota Falls Lodge for a rest night before leaving the next day after being on Safari. The lodge's grounds are quiet and peaceful. The plants are so pretty and well taken care of. We booked meals with Joyce and they were very good. She used fresh strawberries from the gardens for parts of it! I would definitely stay at Sangota again and can confidently say it was a peaceful oasis from the noise and business of the city. Could improve: There was a problem with the hot water at one point (it is primarily wood fired and for some reason wasn't flowing to our cabin). The staff was very quick to help us and ultimately switched to the backup electrical heating, which worked fine.

A real true experience to stay with a local family. Support them please! And their food is just more than good! Fresh juices..fresh fruit...very flavourful creative main meals. Could improve: Do not go here if you expect a luxury lodge. Go here for an experience!

Joyce and her family were absolutely fabulous. They came to the rescue after another lodge had cancelled on us upon check in. We had to make a last minute booking at 9pm to have a place to sleep for then ight, and Joyce welcomed us with open arms. She even prepared a very delicious dinner for us. The rooms were stylish and memorable, and all rooms had hot water. The property looked very beautiful - a nice big yard with the views of the jungle. There is also a very sweet pup. We are hoping to return to Songota Falls Lodge again in the future, and we highly recommend it to all travelers. Could improve: Everything was awesome

Det var helt fantastisk med Joyce og Ray som tok meg inn som en del av familien. Joyce lager fantastisk mat og Ray tok meg med for å besøke et barnehjem, det lokale markedet og fossefallet i nærheten som er en time å gå en vei. Could improve: Jeg dro når det var litt kaldt så det er greit å ta med seg litt ekstra klær om natten da det ikke er varme i hyttene.

The lodge is a tranquil place, real Polé Polé! An ideal place to spend a few days prior or after your safari. The hosts Joyce and Raymond are very welcoming and kind. They have built a little paradise over the years. Make sure to try out their home cooked dinners with a view.
