Avoid this hotel. This is genuinely one of the worst hotel experiences I have had. The hotel bears little resemblance to the peaceful beachfront stay advertised. Major construction surrounds the property, the direct beach access was blocked by undisclosed building works, and we were forced to walk along the main road to reach the beach. Combined with a nightclub next door playing loud music late into the night, this was far from the relaxing holiday we booked. Our room had paper-thin walls and an ongoing toilet fault that was reported multiple times. We were repeatedly told it had been fixed, yet the issue kept returning and was never properly rectified. Management was dismissive throughout. Instead of accepting responsibility, the owner blamed the government of Zanzibar and offered either an inferior room with no balcony, no sea view and no TV, or a token refund that did not reflect the disruption. Staff professionalism was appalling. A man who I later saw sitting in the office behind reception almost barged into me on the stairs while I was carrying food and drinks. On check-out, despite settling our bill the previous day, we were delayed 15–20 minutes, and a member of the reception/security team aggressively swiped at my phone, knocking it from my hand onto the reception desk without any apology. Even simple arrangements were poorly managed. A taxi booked by the hotel for my pre-booked scuba diving trip at 7:50am arrived at 8:03am, unnecessarily causing concern about missing the excursion. The restaurant was equally disappointing. Stale bread was served before lunch, food took an excessive amount of time to arrive even when we were the only guests, and my beef fillet panini arrived with one entire half containing virtually no filling. Between the undisclosed construction, blocked beach access, nightclub noise, unresolved maintenance issues and inexcusable customer service, this hotel completely failed to deliver what was advertised. There are far better places to stay in Zanzibar. Save your money and book elsewhere.

Unfortunately, nothing stands out positively. Could improve: Avoid this hotel. I have travelled extensively and this is, without question, one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. The property bears little resemblance to the peaceful beachfront stay that is advertised. There is major construction surrounding the hotel, with noise beginning early in the morning despite this not being disclosed when booking. The advertised beach access was also misleading, as construction blocked the direct route. To make matters worse, the hotel sits next to a nightclub that plays extremely loud music late into the night on multiple evenings, making it almost impossible to get a proper night’s sleep. This is not the relaxing holiday that was advertised or that guests pay for. Our room also suffered an ongoing toilet fault that was reported multiple times. Despite repeated assurances that it had been repaired, the problem continued throughout our stay, even requiring us to deal with it ourselves during the night. Having to repeatedly chase basic maintenance while on holiday is simply unacceptable. The biggest disappointment, however, was the staff and management. Every legitimate concern was met with excuses rather than solutions. Instead of taking responsibility, the owner dismissed our complaints and even attempted to justify the situation by blaming the government of Zanzibar. Paying guests should not be expected to tolerate defective facilities, excessive noise and poor service because “that’s just how it is.” We were offered only an inferior replacement room with no balcony, no sea view and no television, or a token refund that came nowhere close to reflecting the disruption to our holiday. Rather than resolving the issues, management appeared more interested in minimising them. The lack of professionalism extended beyond reception.

Struttura molto bella, camere ampie, pulizia impeccabile, personale molto gentile e sempre disponibile! Cibo ottimo!!! Could improve: Peccato che non sia affacciato sulla spiaggia ma con i tuc tuc (super convenienti), taxi o anche a piedi si arriva in pochi minuti sulla spiaggia di Nungwi.
