Sødt personale men ofte er der ingen på hotellet. Der er ofte intet varmt vand og ingen at meddele det til. Så vi måtte bade i koldt vand. Strømmen går ofte på øen og hotellet har ingen generator så da den gik i næsten 1 døgn sad vi i mørke, da der ikke var tænkt på alternativt lys. Da det blev påpeget fandt de dog en solcelle lampe til os. Da vi havde aftalt med hotellet at de skulle hente os i lufthavnen havde de misforstået hvilken dag vi ankom trods flere samtaler om hvornår vi ankom. Det var ikke muligt at ringe til hotellet og vi sad i et par timer midt om natten i lufthavnen før vi fandt transport selv. Da vi så kom til hotellet måtte vi banke på forskellige døre for at finde nogen der kunne tage imod os. Morgenmaden er meget beskeden og er ikke hvad vi forstå ved engelsk breakfast. Could improve: Our experience with Ellavita Cottages on September 9, 2025, was truly unsettling. We arrived at 4 p.m. to find the place completely abandoned. We were let in by two men off the street, who said were not staff and who showed us a room that smelled incredibly musty, as if nobody entered in months. After viewing several other rooms, all in the same state, they confirmed no one else was staying there and the manager was away. The rooms lacked working locks or safe boxes, no staff were present and, with strangers freely coming and going, we felt extremely unsafe. We left to find another hotel, and when we returned to drop off the key, the entire place was dark and without power. Another man was sitting in the dark courtyard and he called the manager. We told the manager we felt unsafe, left the key, and left. We’ve traveled all over the world and are not easily scared, but this place gave us the creeps. I feel completely fooled by the few glowing reviews this “hotel” has — and honestly wonder if they’re even real. Just avoid it.

La posizione ottima vicinissima alla spiaggia di Nungwi. Staff gentilissimo e proprietari molto disponibili e gentili Could improve: Abbiamo scelto questa struttura attratti dalle ottime recensioni e dalla posizione centrale a Nungwi, davvero ideale per spostarsi tra escursioni, spiaggia e ristoranti. Purtroppo, l’esperienza reale è stata molto diversa dalle aspettative. 1. Struttura Definire la struttura “basica” è riduttivo: • Bagni fatiscenti, privi di box o tendina per la doccia, con conseguente allagamento completo del bagno. • Lenzuola sporche e stanze con forte odore di muffa. • Dotazione inesistente: una sola asciugamano (maleodorante) a testa, nessun phon, nessun sapone, shampoo o carta igienica. • Camere spoglie e trascurate, completamente diverse dalle foto pubblicate su Booking. 2. Colazione La colazione, descritta come “pazzesca”, si è rivelata deludente: • Solo uova cucinate in vari modi, pancakes che in realtà erano semplici crêpes, marmellata dalla consistenza gelatinosa. • Frutta fresca ma poca possibilità di scelta • Servizio molto lento e cucina collocata accanto a una pozza d’acqua con bottiglie di plastica sparse, creando un ambiente poco igienico e inquinante. 3. Servizio e personale • I titolari si sono mostrati gentili e accoglienti all’arrivo, così come il personale, disponibile e sorridente. • Tuttavia, al momento del check-in non è stata rispettata la prenotazione: avevamo richiesto e ricevuto conferma per 3 camere matrimoniali, ma una coppia è stata sistemata in una stanza con letti singoli, peraltro tra le meno curate. Nonostante le rassicurazioni, la situazione non è stata risolta nei primi due giorni. Conclusioni Dopo due notti insonni, abbiamo deciso di cambiare struttura nonostante l’importo fosse già stato interamente saldato: restare lì era impossibile. Ellavita Cottage si avvicina più a un ostello che a un lodge: infatti era frequentato quasi esclusivamente da ragazzi molto giovani. Le camere sono prive di qualsiasi comfort e lo standard non corrisponde minimamente a quello presentato online.
