Elephant lodge

Erg mooie en bijzondere locatie. De olifanten lopen overal om je heen, maar de mensen zorgen ervoor dat je veilig blijft. We zijn hier met ons kindje van bijna 2 jaar naar toe gereisd, de accomodatie is daar niet helemaal op ingesteld, vooral qua eten was het lastig om ons daarin te faciliteren, maar ze hebben wel hun best gedaan! De dames van de bediening waren wel helemaal verliefd op ons kindje. We hadden ons hier ook al op ingesteld, dus zie het niet als klacht, maar mocht je zelf met een kleintje willen reizen, stel je er dan op in! Verder kan ik de buggy ride aanbevelen! Erg gaaf om te doen, en de guide Peter is een hele bijzondere man!

Our stay at Elephant Lodge was a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience. Located right in the Tarangire area, the lodge seamlessly blends into the stunning natural surroundings. The absolute highlight is the small watering hole on-site, which attracts wild animals throughout the day. The lodge definitely lives up to its name: watching a whole herd of elephants and zebras while enjoying a meal, just a stone's throw away, was unforgettable. Because wild animals roam freely across the grounds, staff members escort you to your bungalow at all times, making you feel completely safe and well cared for. Our two-bedroom family bungalow was comfortable, featuring an open bathroom in the main bedroom, a second separate bathroom, and a private rooftop terrace. The tranquil view across the wilderness toward the distant lake is breathtaking. The hospitality was exceptional. The staff is extremely attentive, warm, and friendly. The food exceeded our expectations, especially the thoughtful and lovingly prepared five-course dinner menu, which changes every evening. On our first day, we were surprised with an open-jeep drive to the nearby lake, where we enjoyed sunset drinks surrounded by wildlife. We had pre-booked a full-day game drive in Tarangire National Park, and our guide, Innocent, was fantastic. He was knowledgeable, incredibly friendly, and went above and beyond to make our safari special. The entrance to the core national park is very close to the lodge. We saw an abundance of wildlife in the beautiful landscape, including giraffes, zebras, elephants, buffaloes, wildebeests, and gazelles. To top it off, we were lucky enough to see lions and get an up-close view of two leopards. Could improve: Note for future travelers: The road leading to the lodge is quite rough and bumpy. It seemed a bit under-signposted, as our driver from the airport had some trouble finding the way. Additionally, be sure to bring insect repellent and wear long-sleeved clothing for the game drive, as tsetse flies are present in the area.

Die Elephantlodge ist ein wunderbarer Ort. Das Personal ist durch und durch warmherzig, das Essen schmeckt hervorragend und der Name ist Programm. Elefanten kommen mehrmals täglich direkt an die Lodge, es ist faszinierend. Die Unterkunft hat durch eine Wasseraufbereitungsanlage Trinkwasser, was in Tansania sehr besonders ist. Wir hatten einen Gamedrive mit Innocent, den die Lodge für uns organisiert hat. Hier wollen wir ein großes Lob aussprechen, da er kompetent und sehr engagiert durch den Tag geführt hat. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Could improve: Direkt vor der Unterkunft war eine Kontrollstelle, die Geld für den Park von uns haben wollte. Diesen Betrag mussten wir am Ende unseres Aufenthalts bar in der Unterkunft zahlen, ohne eine Quittung zu erhalten. Da die Lodge außerhalb des Tarangireparks liegt, erschließt sich uns diese Zahlung nicht.

I loved, loved The Elephant Lodge and can’t say enough great things about it. This was a night I had added on top of my 3 night stay and so glad I added a day just to chill at the resort by the pool and wait for the elephants to arrive. They didn’t disappoint me and came 3 times on my last day. The staff was incredible and made it extra special for me. They treated me like family. I hope to return one day. Asante Sana Elephant Lodge!

My stay at The Elephant Lodge was nothing short of magical beginning with unbelievable visits by majestic elephants sometimes three times per day at the water hole which is right next to the guest pool and bar. In addition to elephants, there would also be visits by zebras, warthogs, buffalo, hyena, impalas, and waterbocks. To make this stay even more amazing is the fabulous staff who take incredible care to make you feel appreciated and happy. Kudos to the entire team led by Tabitha. Special shout outs to Omega ( who served me every meal with grace and kindness), Nicole, Innocent for the great safari rides, the wonderful man taking care of the bar ( now I forgot his name but he was great) and every other staff member who kept me safe and happy. Can’t wait to come back one day. I was made to feel like family. So many thanks to everyone. Could improve: The shipping containers are really well appointed and love the top deck terrace but the only things is they can get hot in the afternoon. But it’s better to stay by the pool and wait for the elephants anyone or do one of the many activities offered.
